A Little Bit About ME
About

Benjamin Bixby
It all started when my mom and dad gave us a choice; go to Disneyland, or get a 1998 Honda XR80 from Michael’s Cycle.  When I think back, the choice was obvious, but to me, at ten years old Disneyland could have been pretty exciting.  Thankfully, we all agreed on the XR, it was a good thing too, because the 1975 Honda Trail 90 was feeling a little old after all those “gigantic” doubles we were hucking her over…

After riding for a few years, my family got into the racing scene and our hobby turned into a passion.  For three years my father, brother and I all consistently raced throughout the Midwest.  We met a lot of great people and became one with the Michigan motocross community.  I took that a step further at the end of my Sophomore year of High School and chased the dream of every avid racer; competing in the highly competitive event that is Loretta Lynns’.  Although my dream of attaining pro motocross stardom was never achieved, I continued on a new route with motocross media.  I had the chance to meet Wes Williams the following year at Loretta Lynn’s, and within a few months I joined Wes in Lawrenceville, Georgia, to finish The Prospects Mx DVD.  Over the next few years we developed many friendships in and around the motocross industry, and had the pleasure of working with people like Kevin Kelly and David Izer of DMXS radio, Davey Coombs and Billy Ursic as well as the rest of the Racer X Illustrated crew.  We also enjoyed a year with one of amateur motocross’ most popular magazines; Motoplayground Magazine in Ottawa, Kansas.

After more than two and a half years out on the road, I decided it was time to come back home and pursue my goals in my education.  I enrolled in Lansing Community College, and as they say, the rest is history!  I’m finishing up my final semester at LCC this fall, and will hopefully get the chance to visit SCAD in Savannah, Georgia sometime after the new year and possibly enroll for 2009.
